I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of Pre-Fall; partly because designers lower their vanguard for this off season rendezvous. They try to make the pieces more commercial, and in doing so forfeit much of their originality. If these Pre-Fall collections are anything similar to what's coming up in a month, then we are in big trouble-- Oprah-size big.
Did someone bop Phillip Lim over the head with an ugly stick? His Pre-Fall 2011 collection was sad. Loved Vera Wang, but when do we not? Zac Posen disappointed us with the first batch of pieces from this collection, but it got a little better near the end. Could you die for those Thakoon shoes?
Michael Kors: I love you but you bore the shit out of me. Is it possible to make a collection more predictable than this? Enough of the blue on blue on...blue on maybe a stripe of white.
What the HELL was up with the DVF collection?! Someone call a buyer at Filene's Basement we have potential profitability. I cringe.
