The "It" Girl

We are in LOVE with Emily Baker, the new "it" girl for this season. She walked in numerous shows last Spring, and is a favorite of Miuccia Prada. We love her look and can't wait to see more of her. At only 5'9.5", she's still dominating with her fierce cheekbones and sultry eyes. Take a look for yourself. Let's hope she doesn't turn into Lindsey Wixson and disappear! 

Model of the Season

Every season we pick the most present and newest addition to the New York, Milan, Paris, and London catwalks. This year, we noticed a fresh face to the scene, who happens to also be a Yves Saint Laurent and Prada model: Arizona Muse.

Her eyebrows are heavenly bliss, and her stare is as magnificent and bright as Kate Moss's from as far back as I can remember. Let's just hope she stays on the scene and doesn't pull a Lindsay Wixson and disappear from most of the shows. That's usually it with models, though--one minute they're in, and the next minute they are sitting fourth row at a show they once opened.

Crystal Renn on Mexican Vogue Cover

Our favorite supermodel Crystal Renn is on the cover of Mexican Vogue next month! The plus size model looks stunning! She looks very skinny, though. I wonder how much weight she lost.

I've been meaning to put some final images of recent photo shots on Mankx, and finally I have the final images of the most recent ones, so I can show you guys.

Here is a shoot I did with Davis Carrasquillo, Javier Belloso Álvarez, and Pablo Estévez. it was a pleasure to work with such a great team, and I think the images are amazing! When you have a great model, great photographers, fabulous styling, hair, and makeup, then there is no room for mistakes! The shoot was pulled together in a few hours, and the backdrop was even custom made by the photographers minutes before shooting!

Crystal Renn Talks!

Our favorite supermodel talks about her recent weight loss, Carine Roitfeld, and the pressures of being thin (or in her case, plus size) in the industry.

We're glad to hear she is okay; we were worried from seeing her weight on the runway last Fall. Reportedly she's now a size 2. In order to qualify as a 'plus size' model, she would have to go back to a size 6.

Lara Stone for Calvin Klein

Lara Stone looks breathtakingly beautiful in this Calvin Klein commercials directed by Fabian Baron. This is Calvin Klein's first commercial, and it looks like they are following in the footsteps of other designers who choose to showcase their collections via video clips. 

The clip features Lara and male model Tyson Ballou in some beautiful CK designs. 

Tom Murry, the CEO of Calvin Klein, stated:

“I believe the creative conveys the message that Calvin Klein Collection—our halo brand, positioned at the top of our global brand pyramid—is modern, timeless, luxurious and sexy.”

Stone will also be starring in the print campaigns for Calvin Klein Collection and ck Calvin Klein. Loves it! 

Victoria's Secret Angels are Taking Over!

Loving this new photo shoot for Dolce and Gabbana's Spring/Summer 2011 look book. These ladies are fierce and I love to see ad campaigns that speak (scream) to me.

Everyone is getting pregnant this year, and we just heard a new addition to the line of pregnant models and actresses has increased plus one.

Model Devon Aoki is pregnant with her first child with fiancee James Bailey.

“She’ll probably take a break because of her pregnancy.”

Congratulations! We wonder what the baby will look like, and the gender is still a mystery.

Crystal Renn has scored another campaign! She will be representing DSquared2 in their Spring/Summer 2011 campaign. Love her so much! She is so beautiful! We would love to see more plus sized models working with designers!

Two words: eff me!!

We are SO proud to announce that our favorite model, Crystal Renn, is the new face of Jimmy Choo!

One question, though...where did her curves go? She's still considered plus size in the modeling world (anything above a size 6), but she's getting tinier and tinier!

One of our favorite models, Anja Rubik, has gotten engaged to fellow model Sasha Knezevic, on Christmas in Vienna. A congratulations is in order!

Lindsey Wixson the new Sasha Pivovarova

Flipping through pictures of NYFW, LFW, MFW, and PAFW, I couldn't help but notice a very nice *relatively new addition, Lindsey Wixson. At only 16 years old, she opened the Prada Spring 2010 show and has walked for the likes of...well, everyone. I hope to be seeing a lot more of her, she has a very unique look. Her enormous heart shaped lips are her signature. I can't help but stare at them, I've never seen anything like it! I mean look at them...incredible!

I was watching a video the other day where Lindsey was practicing her walk for Donatella Versace, when Donatella turned to her and told her she was sexy, then retracted the statement because she felt Lindsey was too young to be categorized as such. Wait a few more years, she has a long way to go. She's dominating Fashion Week though, huh? Expect to see a lot more of her.
