Dries Van Noten Spring/Summer 2012

Dries next season will be a boxy, manly shape; a reverse from the tailored workmanship we are used to seeing and regarding as great. Random pattern blocking seems to be in, as seen at Mary Katrantzou as well. The longer hemline of the skirt, that draped pattern of the pants, and the loose shoulder shape: these shapes need to be worn with extreme caution because the wrong body type will be accentuated in places no one wants to be accentuated in. I love the fold-over clutches, kind of a continuation of this season's trend. Beautiful workmanship!

More Couture!

Jean Paul Gaultier...sometimes I don't know what to say about you. So I'm not going to say anything because words are not necessary. Except that I am disappointed.

Remember...it's only couture. We have high hopes for F/W 2011!

Spring 2011 Haute Couture Blows Our Mind!

I am at a loss for words. Galliano always brings it with Dior..whether couture or any regular season, his shows are always on the top of our list. This Couture season was not an exception, with beautiful hair and makeup complimenting the extravagant ensembles. We are all too familiar with colored eyebrows, but the red we have never seen before! I'm also very happy Karlie opened his show. She is the luckiest teenager!

Here are some of our favorites from the house.

Fucking Fabu.

Okay, let's talk Chanel. Dyyying! I love everything Chanel because I love everything Lagerfeld, but some pieces in this collection he may have...skimped on. Love the beaded details, though...to die! The cut of the pants is so Karl, and the shoes are mesmerizing. Wasn't feeling the entire collection, but a lot of the pieces were great, traditional Chanel. They had some ugly models, though, no?

Next on the list, Givenchy.  They're really missing McQueen, aren't they? Everything is so similar, but not surprising since he used to design for them many many years ago. Expect to see Gaga in one of these very soon. I do have to admit--I am very happy in the direction Givenchy is heading in. They are inventing and creating new trends, not just following them. Loving it!

Armani Prive was great, but not worthy of showing pictures, it was the same old thing. Next round!
