The Drags Have Infultrated the Building: NOAG 2011

I had the honor of working backstage for the Imperial Court of New York at Night of a Thousand Gowns this past weekend, and apart from the usual madness, this year was spectacular in every way. The proceeds from the event go toward helping AIDS victims, AIDS research, and benefit the gay youth.

There is nothing more a straight girl could possibly want than an evening with over 1000 drag queens, glitter, sparkle, fabulous costumes (for some, day wear), spectacular wigs, and a mind boggling amount of jewelry. I could die. It's the only thing I look forward to after Fashion Week, and the only event that I enjoy doing and have the satisfaction of knowing that I am not only helping the gay community, but also raising awareness for AIDS/HIV research, which is something I am very passionate about.

I have compiled some photos from the event. If there is anyway you want to get involved, please visit www.icny.org/

Frugalicious Baby!

A month ago, Stacie, Alex, and myself trekked to SoHo to attend the Holiday Frugalicious Shopping Binge event. I bought a videographer with me, but due to technical difficulties, we do not have the video at this moment.

Instead, we will recapture the night with pictures. The proceeds from the event will go to sponsor the Nomi Network--to help eradicate human trafficking. A great event for a great cause--there is nothing more I can ask for!

Jerseylicious was there, along with Gatsby Salon (where the show is filmed).

Event Update

Eponymy, an uber cool boutique in Brooklyn that supplies the likes of Alexandre Herchcovitch, Dolce Vita, J Brand, and Vivienne Westwood Anglomania, among others, will be participating in an event this Sunday in Kings County General Store, a market at Southpaw music venue in Park Slope. They will have a table there from 12-5pm offering discounts on clothing, vintage gloves, holiday ornaments, natural soaps, and other treats. A portion of the proceeds will go to Brooklyn Rescue Mission, a food program that supplies fresh, free produce to the communities of central  Brooklyn and Bedford Stuyvesant. For every dollar donated, Eponymy will match it. Click here and here for more information.
