The Next Miz Zoe!

When my best friend's little sister, Gabby, told me she wanted to be a stylist, I got down on both knees and began chanting some sort of mystical worship prayer from a bad indie flick. "Finally," I said, "someone from my home state of Connecticut who is willing to put the shovel and ax down in place of a silk charmeuse blouse in search of it's perfect match: a pair of gorgeous tan corduroy shorts complete with black patent leather loafers." Is that too much to ask for?? I was going crazy, really.

So I sent Gabby on her first mission: take the individual articles of clothing from my Topshop post and make outfits out of them. She just sent me her two batches that she just pulled out of her pink and orange sparkle oven, (I'm not dreaming, that thing is real!), and I am not the least bit surprised. Well, just a little bit. She's really great! Fabu, even!

Anyways, here are the outfits in all their glory. We will have more for you later :)

Nothing screams I'm from the Middle East like crystallized camels and skulls

Two weeks ago Jimmy Crystal showed its Autumn/Winter 2011/2012 trends inspired by Swarovski Elements. I showed up half an hour fashionably late (I have a good excuse), but didn't miss a single thing! The rooms were filled with fabulous people and crystals, and near the end Stephanie Carcache performed (I didn't stay that long, I had a meeting afterward). Here are some pictures I took throughout the night.

Love that Louis! Love you for pulling a great Kanye!

Me standing next to a wedding dress. The rain was bad to my hair that night, I should have kept it up in a bun...lesson learned. Shawl, blue dress, black shirt, earrings: Forever 21. Shoes, belt: Calvin Klein (oh, Costa..). Glasses: Marc Jacobs.
I so regret not putting my hair up. I'm going to have nightmares now.

Crystallized feathers...love it!!

Here are the five collections for F/W 2010:

It was a great night, I loved the fashion! I love Jimmy Crystal, they are so great with customer service and their clients. Wendy always responds to my emails...that's not something I take for granted! Look around you, if you see anything (your blinds??) that you feel is a bit lackluster, shoot them an email for a quote. I totally want to get my I-pad decked out (when I get an I-pad, that is). Click here to contact them.

Southwestern

I can't say I sympathize with Ralph Lauren's Southwestern influence next season, but I can take bits and pieces of the looks and wear them (tastefully). A little bit of suede isn't so bad, right? For example, these suede booties (they come in tan, too):

Wear them (either color, preferably the black ones) with this:

My favorite handbags

I have been a big fan of Nicole Lee's handbags since my best friend Adriana introduced me to them. They are all she carries, no matter the occasion because they go so well with anything and everything. The handbags are statement pieces in and of themselves so if you are having a day where you feel the need to be monotone throughout, grab one of her handbags. Trust me, people will stare, and some people might approach you. Do not worry--this is the general reaction we all get. Trust me, it's worth it.

That being said, we will be giving away four handbags from their Fall 2010 collection to four lucky girls (or boys, that's cool..)

Here are the rules:

Send me an email (my contact information is on the right), with one completed outfit (See here for examples) using one the following handbags from their Fall 2010 line (note that these handbags will not be the handbags Nicole Lee is sending me):

**These are just a small sample of the handbags for their Fall collection, I just picked my favorites.

If you do not happen to be one of the lucky winners, the Fall 2010 collection will be available in stores and online beginning in October. Click here to find a store near you.

You have until September 30th to email me your outfit. I will pick my favorites and post them here. I will post pictures of the handbags they send me, and the first place winner will choose first, second place will choose second, and so on. You get the deal.

Please do not send me emails asking me to give these bags to you as a favor, I will not respond.

Ready, set....GO!

Morticia

Word on the street is that the maxi skirt is back. The Morticia Addams floor length jersey skirt. Black on black on black on sometimes white. I was at Bryant Park Hotel the other day and spotted Coco Rocha at the Cellar Bar wearing a similar outfit to this:

With her long red hair and tall physique, she pulled it off perfectly. I would need to get 20 inch extensions put in before I could even begin to pull off this look.

FNO with Alex

Midtown is only beautiful from a rooftop, but on Friday night it was spectacular. Heel laden ladies (and some gentlemen) owned the streets of Manhattan as the whole industry came out to support fashion. I was able to catch a glimpse of Simon Doonan and Francisco Costa (literally 10 minutes after I said to Alex, "if there was one person I could meet tonight and end the night with that, it would be Francisco Costa"). I always thought he was so tall, I never imagined he would be my height (5'7 1/2). I say that with love*

I brought my good friend Alex into the city with me for moral support (and because every woman MUST have her best gay friend in tow at ALL TIMES).

We made our way to Barney's and Bergdorf's (where the line to get into the building was about 500 people long). This year's FNO, as opposed to last year's, felt like an event. Last year when they first introduced Fashion's Night Out, it was more of a shopping incentive to see your favorite celebrities and designers. This year, with their obviously more advanced marketing methods, they transformed it into a world wide event.

After we went to our favorite stores uptown, we met up with my good friend, Stacie (a celebrity makeup artist, see here), who was working at an event at Touch, the Shop Addicts Fashion's Night Out 2010 Fashion Binge. They had a fashion show, DJ, and Loren Ridigner (Kim K's BFF, and who's cosmetic company, Motives, was sponsoring the event) and Sammy from the Jersey Shore made an appearance.

Guests drank from the open bar and people danced downstairs as the quieter guests enjoyed the VIP suites upstairs on the balconies overlooking the dance floor.

We didn't end up going downtown to SoHo or the Meatpacking District because we were soo tired (Fashion Week is exhausting, y'all!), but overall it was a great night with great company and friends.

Shop Addicts: FASHION BINGE & Shop for a Cause

Proceeds from the night went to Could You?, a non-profit organization that helps empower and sponsor young girls and women to pursue an education in Mozambique, Africa. See more here.

Alex, Stacie, and myself.
I'm wearing a Tahari dress, the handle of my red purse as my belt, a wooden cross from Armenia, a pomegranate necklace from Armenia, yellow necklace from Russia, wooden bracelet from Armenia, glasses from F21, and boots from Spring Shoes. My red purse is from NY and Company (how fitting, right). My cardigan is Sugarlips, one of my favorite brands! They have the best silk tanks.

On Alex: Pants and Cardigan: H&M. Blue top: Urban Outfitters

Dee Rivera, the CEO of Shop Addicts, and Stacie Ford

Loren Ridinger and Sammie Sweetheart. Sammie, you could have worn something else girl, that outfit is too plain for an event like this!!

The Rest of the Night

Before the Shop Addicts event, Alex and I made our way to Alice and Olivia, and took a picture of the crowd outside of Bergdorf's.

Would love to wear that hourglass and gold chain as a necklace...it was just for decoration.
